The Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), in its effort to modernize its processes and improve administrative efficiency through digital systems, announced a new Agreement via the Official Gazette of the Federation published on August 5, 2024. This Agreement introduces the General Guidelines for the operation of the IMSS Mailbox, a platform designed to enable electronic notifications of administrative acts and resolutions, among other services.

Starting February 2025, private individuals will be required to activate the IMSS Mailbox and agree to its Terms and Conditions. This tool will be available 24/7 throughout the year, and only a valid e.signature issued by the SAT will be required for access. Through this digital system, electronic notifications of administrative acts and resolutions, including those subject to appeal, will be issued. These notifications will be made in digital documents signed by the competent public official using the e.signature.

If the IMSS Mailbox is not activated, notifications may be made through public posting.
